If you walked into our gallery-style showroom and saw all

of the elegant pieces on display, you probably wouldn’t be

able to picture us in any other setting. As hard as it is to

believe, though, I started the business in a garage, creating

and repairing jewelry for some of the finest shops in

San Diego. Now, customers flock to our Poway store for

high-end jewelry and gifts that are truly one of a kind.

After graduating from high school, I studied diligently

under master jeweler and diamond setter Ray Schow. It was

here where the inspiration began. Quality work and

dedication would bring success, I thought – and I soon

decided to put my theory to the test.

​

After working for several independent jewelers, I decided

to venture out on my own. In 1984, Artistry in Gold was

born. From a tiny one-car garage, I ran a successful trade shop, but I wasn’t going to stop there. My true dream was to own a store where I could provide excellent service and create quality jewelry for my customers. I have been living that dream for 29 years, operating Artistry in Gold Fine Jewelry and Gifts. Since 1993, we have run our business from the Creekside Shopping Center in Poway, California, making a name for ourselves as a family-run jewelry business and featuring rare gems from around the world plus fine gifts such as clocks, sculptures, and figurines.

As important as all of the hard work was, this dream has truly been a family affair, and I could not have achieved it without the support of my family, including my mother, who continually loves and supports me; my mother-in-law and father-in-law, who treat me like their own son; my brother-in-law, who is caring, hard working, and as close to me as my own brothers; my sister-in-law, who is always thoughtful and eager to help; my sons Andrew, Brandon, Cameron, and Zachary, who always give their unconditional love and support; and my wife Roxanne, whose love and devotion are the inspiration for all that we have accomplished. Thank you all for your contribution to the dream.
